Hello all,

So I have found a brand new long aluminium grill and a new fly mesh section + brand new boxed Renault logo to go on my GTL - a modification which I have been meaning to do for ages.

I've bought 5 clips from Der Franzose but can't for the life of me figure out how to attach the fly mesh to the outer grill section or indeed the whole thing to the car. I have managed to screw the logo on to the grill though .... :-)

Can anyone help me please, I've searched high and low online for pics /tips!

This grille is fitted on its intended bonnet with five small plates with M6 studs, that slot in the "channels" on the straight sections around the grille, plus some sheet metal clips that go over the tabs at the curved sections. These tabs pass through suitable slots that exist only on 845cc bonnets, that is, the type with the two diagonal struts.
For your GTL bonnet it's entirely practical to use only the threaded plates and fold the tabs on the grille flat. But you must make sure the clips you bought are these threaded plates, indeed. These should be slotted in the grill and fitted at the same position where the studs on the plastic grille are, so you can use the existing bonnet holes. The mesh is simply sandwiched between the grille and the bonnet, it has some slots to align it over the grille locating studs. The logo isn't simply screwed on the grille, it uses long screws and a metal strip that fits behind the mesh, so that these two screws hold the mesh at this point.
