... of the same area (under the steering wheel) in a LHD post-82 TL R4 with the umbrella handbrake lever (handbrake acting on the front wheels).
I'll explain a bit:
I'm mating the greasy bits of a '78 GTL (handbrake like on the TL's) with the body of a '87 GTL (handbrake between the seats), and so I'll have to fit the old handbrake lever to the newer body.
It seems, however, that the plastic cover under the steering wheel that also holds the choke lever is in the way, so I'd like to see how they are fitted on a late TL.
In my photo I've marked the hole in the panel where the handbrake lever will enter the motor compartment with an orange arrow (at the moment the antenna cable is still fed through), the blue arrow shows the position of one of the mounting holes for the handbrake ratchet.
The holes under the dash are there on the '87 body (on the '78 they are threaded), but they seem to be inconveniently located in regard to the plastic cover, some cables and the choke lever.
I'd much appreciate a photo of the proper setup from one of your cars.
Thanks,
Robert
