Improved cooling fan

As my R4 suffered a very hot summer this year I tried to figure out how to improve the radiator fan efficency.
I know that someone install two original fan with an offset as the space isn't much.
I wanted instead to try to install a two speed high power fan from a modern car as shown:

Today hopefully I'm going to connect it to a double radiator switch (for high and low speed) and try how it works.
Finger crossed!

Tat looks like a serious fan. Good luck with fitting it.

The connections are going to be made today, but I assembled the finished 3d printed conveyor. And tomorrow I'm going to the Italian club meeting and I'll properly test it!

That's a serious fan, one could almost take off with that.
Interested in findings, final installation and the fan two speed solution.

I made the first real test this weekend, as previously anticipated.
300 km of motorway at full speed friday evening, about 100 km saturday and another 300 km with a spare bonnet on the roof at 80-90 km/h on my way back. A heavily loaded car and a really heavy foot.
Most of the time the low speed (should be about 60W) is enough to take the temperature under control.
When it comes to use more power at lower speeds, for example going up some hills, the fan goes at full speed with a massive air flux (for 4L standards).
On my way back I experienced also some traffic on the motorway without inconveniences.
I'm really satisfied by the results.

whar car did the new fan come from, it looks a good fit and not too much bodgery to get it in.

It's from a VW, but honestly I don't know which one.
I'm also thinking about making a little series, there are a lot of interested people (I didn't really imagine) but I think fan + support + housing + double radiator bulb could be easily around 100 euros...

That is one mighty fan.

I have temp raise only if i am stuck in the city with long traffic lights.
On the open road never had problems with temp.

The real issue for me isn't at low speed and low power required, but at low speed with high power request.
I'm quite happy with it and I'm really considering to produce a small series, but I'm afraid to being not able to sell it
