Indicator Flasher Relay problem ?

I have an interesting little problem which i think is probably a faulty indicator relay but i am not certain. The car is an 83 model GTL which has 4 connections on the flasher relay not 3 as per earlier 4's. However it has a 3 pin relay fitted ever since my ownership which works but has always flashed too quickly. It now has developed a new feature in that it flashes the dashboard indicator lamp perfectly on tickover but at any engine speed over that the light stays on and does not blink when the indicators are applied, the actual indicators still flash but barely almost show a constant amber light.

Any thoughts and if it is the flasher unit which should i purchase to just plug and work without any rewiring. I tried a more recent 3 pin flasher but that did absolutely nothing so i suspect they are not quite universal.

Many thanks, Ecurb

Sorry, cannot afford to let the revs drop when turning it takes too long to bulid them up again

OEM part number 7595406 or 7700638976 is a 4-pin flasher relay for Renault 1.1 & 800cc 1983 cars; might be the correct one for you ? (such as ebay item number 332308467991 - 'Rated current' in this advert is I think mis-labelled, it should probably be 'rated power'.)

Hope this helps !

Correct replacement 4 pin flasher relay fitted and all problems gone, i can also hear it and the warning light flashes a lot brighter so i can also see light now when the flashers are on. :clapping:
