Indicator problems

Hi all
I had Florrie (my 86GTL) in for her NCT test today. I was expecting some issues but only 1 popped up.
The indicators weren't working . They were working before the test I swear. Anyway when I try the indicator or hazard switch now the green light on the dash stays on but no power to the bulbs. Before I pull everything apart again I would appreciate a little advise.
Thanks in advance.

It sounds like your flasher unit has failed, but before condemning it to an electrical grave it might be worth taking the bulbs out of the holders & giving the terminals a scrape. If this doesn't fix it, then the flasher unit probably needs changing. I'd recommend fitting a more powerful one than the car now has.

Same thing happened to me,,,,,twice in a row! Both times it was an earth problem. I took the bulbs out, sandpapered the terminals and checked the earth wire that connects to the inner wing.

Thanks for the replies. It's very frustrating to fail on the indicators especially since they worked fine before leaving the house. I thought that with all the shaking the car gets up on the test ramp it might have shook something loose. I'll try the cleaning and then the flasher unit. Fingers crossed.
Thanks again

moisture problem, i had the same when humidity was 100% but when it drop to 70% blinks&hazard started to work again.
standard Renault issue even with new models, WD40 to all electric joints !
