It's Official-This years Easterbunny is.......

Now you DO have me Totally confused Malcolm!!
-I am fitting the R5(R1225) gtl-77mod complete with it's gearbox HAO (166)
ALL my info says this is EXACTLY same g.box (only difference is Floorshift versus in-dash)as in Roffen(R2106)here called 354 (136) Therefore thought I could use the box that comes with the R5 engine..AS IS ??
These two boxes even have SAME pt.No (77 00 598 101)
AM I TOTALLY WRONG HERE????
-Remember; I am going for the 4-speed R5box NOT the 5-speed!!
-had a look at your Gorde-gearbox-site which is ONLY about 5-speed yes?
tried to measure lenght of bellhousing which I am pretty certain is the same at 11,5cm while gearboxes are 37cm long measured from front-to bellhousing.
IF at all different lenght on bellhousing,it is the R5-one that is the shorter.(Maybe by a few mm.if at all!
Little difficult to measure on F4 as is still In car.
-You're the Expert on this Malcolm,so if you still mean I have to change bellhousing and clutchshaft I will do it that way-OR would it be poss.to just use the HAO-box/bellhousing from Roffen the F4 on to the R5motor as is? I have the driveaxles from the R5 if I need to use them....

What's the work involved in changing the clutch-shaft?

me thinks it would be SOOOO much easier to just load any/all
motors/gearboxes/axles/wifes/cats etc into Roffen and come see you...................
Daughter has nicked my camera so can't take pic right now.The guide-part you included is pt.# 77 00 615 494 (P.R.1006 11/82-
pg.58.70 -fitting R 2370 and R 2430)
should be poss to use a circular piece spotwelded into the appropriate round hole in crossmember and pressfit the rubber-grommet with nylon-guide in it I guess.. -R.

I'd imagine if the part number is the same and the lenghts are the same there will be no trouble. Maybe the bellhousing was just a 5 speed thing.

You'd be welcome to trailer the car down here. Would be lovely to meet you and Roffen, and wives and cats.

Blimey-You nearly had me locking myself in the wine-cellar in the company of an electrical and fast corcscrew Malcolm. PHUUUUH!!
-Only thing I wonder now is if I need to use the R5 drive-axles
-they are pushed into the gearbox..am not sure, but think the R4F4-
box have a protruding pinion coming out of it..
Have both (all 4 that is!) so will see when I get that far........

If Roffen is all ready sometime soon -we're looking into the poss.of going to France this summer-I see Stena/A-Ferries have very reasonable fares to/from the Uk,so in case you see a beige F4 coming your way-it might well be it's the Roffmobile!
-Crossmember now dry so have found I can use the guide if I cut the two mounting-wings off -then I will have a deluxe ADJUSTABLE guide Wonder if they have another RenaultF4-badge for my reardoor-must look for something with more letters in it to reflect all refinements.. (like the Jap.cars) GLXTTIGTB sounds about right -Reidar.
