Hello all
I had a renault 4 (4x4) about 20 years ago and been thinking about geting a Renault for my son to work on as he is wanting to become a mechanic when he leaves school? and it might be something that we could work on together to teach him the basics??
Anyway I start reading through the forum and hopefully chat to you all in the future.

Many thanks Simon

Hi Simon, Welcome

A R4 would be brilliant. So often modern mechanicing seems to be about plugging something in to work out which sensor has a dirty connection.

The R4 has no sensors at all, nor anywhere to plug in the black box (apart from for those who bought the adapter from Frederick the Frog) so any trouble needs working out based on the symptoms.

And they they have a remarkably modern layout so the dirty bits are fairly similar to modern cars.

Best of all if you get a bad one there's a lot of experience to be gained in bodywork and welding.

Do post away, ask away and let us know how things go. Only trouble is they are getting a bit rare. Watching eBay or taking a holiday in France will get you one.

Many thanks I hadent relised that they were so rare now? So I'll have to Keep a look out for a cheap one ?
