Koleos aux input doesn't work

Hi,
I bought a 2008 Koleos few months ago and would like to listen audiobook from my mp3 player. Unfortunately, my aux input does not work. I tried with different aux cable, but it is still the same problem. Do i have to control before I connect the mp3 player?

I would be really grateful, if someone let me know how to sort this problem.

Not sure about this - but - I know that I can't just plug my iPod into the Aux socket on a Kia Ceed (i'm going to guess these things are all similar?) - the aux cable is used for charging it and it uses a seperate wire into a seperate socket from the headphone socket to actually produce sounds.

Not sure what the set up on the Koleos is though so the above might not be any help at all.
