Hi

I need to come up with a paint code on my white r4. There is not anything on the inner wings and looking through various posts I assume it to be Artic White, but which one !

Does the fact that it was built in Yugoslavia and sold in Italy make a difference ?
Any help would be much appreciated.

If you take it to someone such as Brown Bros. they can either scan the colour or have a swatch card to match it with, then they can make it for you.

This is earlier model made in Yugoslavia!

Here are some explanations!

It should be somewhere on that plate on last picture. but i do not see it clearly.

Maybe it was writen on inner wing and someone befor you have painted inner wing and paint code number is lost.

Here you can see mine plate for R4 made in Yugoslavia.

IOn right side of the plate, second number in third row (495) that is colour code for my car, and fourth number is production number (with letter Y)

Just out of interest today now the rain has stopped I went and cleaned the oval plate and took a photo.

The paint code says 102 and that comes up as beige ? Is that something lost intranslation ?

102 is equipment code for Italian market R4s, it has nothing to do with colour code.

Arctic White has code 355, at least for '70s R4s.

Thank you for that information. The car was sold new in Milan in 1987, so that matches up.

i think i will go with your suggestion.

I believe that 102 is equipment code, and that your color code was stamped on front inner wing (Aldo do not know what is difference in equipment for cars with codes 100 and 101)

Italian market R4s had wing indicator lights as standard equipment, and also different rear lights (indicators on top of the light).

100 was equipment number for France, it was sort of "basic" R4. 101 were built for Belgium and the Netherlands. Differences were minor, even if one component had to be different from the basic R4 (bigger heater for example), equipment number changed.

Thnak you, angel for clearing up meaning of equipment code
