Light Switch Advice

Hi

I recently acquired a late 70's R4tl. I have not been able to get hold of an owner's handbook yet to work out what the different settings are for on the lights. I would like to make sure everything is working as it should be. There appears to be two positions for the short stalk and three positions for the long stalk. I am attaching images of the switch. The images of the switch have been taken from the back of the switch to show both stalks (the oppposite way round as to when it is fitted on the car). The first image shows both the long and shorts stalks in the upper position, the second image shows the long stalk in the middle position and the third image shows the long and short stalks in the bottom position.

Any pearls of wisdom will be greatly received.

The little lever is lights on and off. The long lever settings are sidelights, dipped beam, main beam. Sequence for both is more light in the downwards position.

i guess this was the right set up after my many attempts, must remember to deconnect battery before you do any tricks with this switch.
