Megane has Died

Hi all,New member here.Just found this site,hopefully someone can help me.
Without going into wheres and whys,i turned my engine off and now it won't restart no noise nothing just flashing lights.
Called out RAC,man said i needed new battery,brought new battery but still dead.Are they qualified mechs?
Have checked fuses on top of battery they seem ok.
There doesn't appear to be any water in fuse box under bonnet (it was raining heavily at the time).
After trying to start,fan runs for a few minutes.
Sorry its a 1600cc Megane 2053
Anyone any ideas please.

I'm assuming you mean 2003 my on 53 plate. These "shaking that ass" Meganes do suffer from battery terminals corroding - went out to one last week exactly the same.
Try removing the terminals, and cleaning and makeing sure the main earth points are good.
