Minor technical advice sought for GTL !

Greetings all - haven't been used this great a site for a while- glad it's just as strong as ever !

Anyway, just a few things concerning my C reg GTL which i am now using again :

1) When i accelerate , I hear a gentle rattling noise (disappears when i take foot off accelerator)- is that coming from within the engine ?

2) The indicator circular green signal button (on the instrument panel) is now permanently illuminated green when ignition is on - indicators are all working fine with no blown bulbs.Any ideas ?

3) Lastly, the fuel guage indicator is jumping around- would the sensor in the tank need changing, and if so , are they available and how difficult would that be ?
Appreciate any advice !

mines doing the same
sounds like pinking,if it stops when you lift off the throttle,or reduces on full throttle
ive been playing with the timing on mine .Its better but still doing it

my guage also moves about a bit as you drive, i did think this was standard ! ?

The turn signal indicator sounds to me like the flasher unit itself. It is cheap-try substituting it with a known good one first.

The fuel gauge needle is generally overactive on any R4 as it is of the moving coil type. But if it jumps violently then the sender must have a dirty or worn point somewhere on its resistance. The answer would be to replace the sender (tank out) but it is not absolutely necessary unless you cannot stand the jumping needle!
