Mission change: Renault 5 engine (688E7/13) into Renault 4 TL

After being let down by the seller of my originally planned GTL engine, I've been offered a bare engine with the code 688E7/13, which my information tells me belonged to a Renault 5.
Will this mate to my existing TL gearbox? I will also need a distributor, inlet/exhaust manifold and fuel pump. My 845 engine has the Zenith 32 1F 7 carb and which I assume would be man enough for the R5 engine?
Has anyone been down this route and are there any added challenges over the engine swap to the GTL?

With many thanks to all who answered my previous post.

George

When you install a Cleon engine on a Billancourt engine 354/HA0 gearbox you end up with 4 reverse gears and 1 forward.
https://www.la4ldesylvie.fr/caracteristiques-des-boites-de-vitesse-354-hao this site tells everything about it.
The Zenith 32 if7 should be sufficient
Read your previous post there are allready many tips given.
Just looked at the link you provided which states that the Billancourt diff is on the left of the box from the engine side.
There is also a gearbox disassembly procedure on the same site, which shows a Cleon gearbox being dismantled and the diff is on the Left hand side?

When we talk about whether something is on the left or right, we always talk about the direction of travel of a car.

On the HA0 gearboxes for Cleon engine the diff is on the left.

This has been discussed many years ago here. Yes, you can change gearbox rotation by flipping the crownwheel but - because it's a pair of hypoid gear cut to run in one direction - it will cause premature teeth wear in the long run.

Thanks Angel, I was hoping to get away with buying another gearbox. I'm guessing the R4GTL will be the one to go for. Would that utilise my existing drive shafts?

Is it possible to flip the crown wheel like we do in Porsche gearboxes when we alter from rear engine 911 to mid engine 914.
Reason I ask is cos my Billancourt needs one more gear 130km/h is 5000rpm. Would be nice with a fifth.

Porsche gearbox final drives are helical bevel gears (if the box is similar to Beetle one) and can be safely flipped over.
I would be curious to see gear tooth wear on a hypoid pair of gears that turns at the wrong direction. One additional problem would be to find a 5 speed gearbox with a 4.125:1 final ratio - it was available but is very rare, most of them have the 3,1:1 ratio which would be too high for the Billancourt engine.
