Just a thought and perhaps a prompt to search memory banks, what is the most satisfying simple job you have done to your Renault 4. A job that has given you a nice warm feeling. For me it was yesterday, the first time I checked Fifi's points after driving her for a couple of weeks and being a bit disapointed by the lack of a full 34 HP. Altering the gap from about 60 thou down to 16 made an incredible difference to pickup and also to high gear durability. Go on have a think.

Spraying a little WD-40 on the tailgate lock...after driving it for 6 months with the lock dry...I thought the car was at least 10 years and some 150.000kms younger :-)

kevinandkate! soundproofing Roffen the F4 -Without it showing and getting it so quiet I can now actually hear the exhaust coming out of the rear-end of the exhaustpipe. Few hours job/Very rewarding!

Replacing starter motor GTL (rhd)

A definite dread/dodgy job  but actually a doddle once I'd thrown away the 'Mr Haynes Howlers' and trawled our site threads - My ultimate saviour was a battered 'slimjim' 1/2" snap-on short ringspanner which made short work of gaining access to the infamous mounting bolts. Sweet success! :)

My little friend is available for loan to those of our fraternity who find themselves in need of its unique talent. ;)
