Hi all

After trying to clean and rebuild Mildred's carb, the general opinion was that it was knackered. She wouldn't idle properly and kept stalling.

So... I looked up the Carburettor Hospital and as it happens they had a Zenith 28IF in stock. I sent mine off on Monday and the replacement arrived today. I fitted it this evening and am over the moon. She is driving like a new car :D

And to celebrate, I attach a picture of my two wonderful French classics (taken last weekend when the sun was shining.)

Also, I bought two new De Carbon rear shocks from the French ebay seller recommended on the forum (Carshopphil.) They have made a huge difference. Thanks for that bit of advice!

Great picture :)

Glad you got it all sorted out.

Nice one.

Is yours a 956cc CIC engines late TL?

I have one with a mere 18,000 miles.

The engine is as sweet as a nut. The compressions are so even and the carb. in such good condition that I can wind down the idle speed to 450 rpm and it still sounds like a sewing machine.

They are lovely when they aren't worn out.

Hi I also have foot in both camps and have and am enjoying both.Mehari.2cv 6 and 2 68 r4s doing 2 restos at the moment will post some pics when I have worked it out best.

I may need a new carb, french emission rules are tough and its almost time for the biannual MOT. I worry that it wont pass, not with an engine now 30 years old

who was the french ebay seller for shocks? not melune? I need 2 shocks as well
