New R4 mag2

Newbie here bought the first one

I bought the first mag when in France earlier this month, have fantasies of casting a R4 to put on bonnet of my freelander (assuming that remains driveable LOL)

Is it the Sapeurs-Pompiers R4 that is the second car?

This is my newbie post, I'm in Yorks, and hoping to buy (another) Renault4 soonish.

Anybody any idea roughly what MPG they get from their quatrelles?

Caro, whereabouts in sunny Yorkshire are you? Glad to get another member for the fabulous Great Yorkshire R4 Club. :D I'll send you a list of the benefits you'll get by becoming a member when I can think of some.

R4 Magazine

In Australia there is little banter about r4,s and certainly very little hard information about restoration and modifications. I am intrigued by the concept of a whole magazine devoted to such a remarkable yet ordinary car.

I have tried to locate the mag on the Internet, but I'm not seeing it. Is it a good read? Worthwhile?

Could someone please post the publication details so that I might organise an overseas subscription.

Thanks,
David

..David - an idea..

My sister in law is in England at present and will be back in Melbourne in the next few weeks - If you send me your address I will give her a number of Renault 4 articles for you and if you need any small 'bits' I will try and persuade her to take them as well - let me know - If you do this today, I am up with Malcolm tomorrow and Sunday and I am sure we could find lots of 'bits' for you if needed.

Best London wishes

R4 mag

Wow, have you three made my day!
Thank you all!

Ian, what a generous gesture. Articles about the R4 would be great. Also if there are breakers/freight companies that advertise about sending parts around the world, I'd love their details also. I shouldn't like to imagine your sister waddling off the plane laden with R4 bits. My project is big picture stuff at the moment. - mechanical stuff.

A couple of those pictues are unsettling. R4 styled by BMW? Is the green one friend or foe?

Bluebell - great revue! I'll get it on the strength of your feedback!

Mr-Reno-139 Thanks Paul for the language warning. An English version would be great. Dommage! I shall summon up my reserves of Year 10 schoolboy French. My wife did French at Uni , and some friendly colleagues at my school teach French as well. I'll be able to muddle through!

Thanks, again

David

R4 Magazine

Well, I've done it!

Using my best schoolboy French (with the considerable use of Google translator) I emailed the magazine to obtain a subscription.

Surprisingly, they responded in English!
I'm guessing that they couldn't stand their language being butchered by the antipodean unwashed!

Just have to sit back and wait for the boat to arrive! By the time the mag arrives in these climes it will be nearly summer and time for edition #3!

just got mag no 3 , trying my best to read french just spotted clementines garage listed at the back under clubs
does that make us all members ?
were we supposed to pay to join?
are there hoards of french owners signing up?

Cool to get a mention in the magazine. I feel internet forums are becoming the new clubs to some extent. We ought to do more clubby things, though with R4s being so rare in the UK and the membership being international it's tricky to get a critical mass in any one place. The Santa Pod thing will happen again next year, and I'd imagine Derek's renault run will happen again.

The French have some active French speaking forums, so we don't often see them on here.
