Hi Guys,

Not sure if this is the right place to say hello or not, but i couldnt see an introductions thread so thought i'd say hello here.

Any how, i've spent the last few months reading just about every written word on this site so thought i should join and contribute to the content!

Me and the other half have been living in France for a couple of years now and the need for an R4 has been growing since day one. I'm about 90% of the way to wearing her down now so the serious search has begun!

leboncoin is my best friend!

Hopefully i'll find something in the not too distant future :)

thanks
Pete

Welcome Pete!
I used to live in Haute Savoie and I still get homesick for that beautiful place, even though I lived there for less than a year.
When I was searching for a 4L there I found there are a few around, but you might have to travel a fair distance to find one in decent condition. If you already have a car, it will be much easier!
Good luck with your search :)

Welcome to the Forum, and good luck with your search. As you say Le Bon Coin is a great place to start and looking around locally some can be found for sale too.

Tom I love your new Signature!

Yeah, someone mentioned on another thread somewhere that its probably due to the amount of salt they use on the roads in the winter. Not in a huge hurry though so happy to wait for the right one to come along, i've made the mistake of rush buying old cars before and spent the folllowing years with it mostly off the road :(

Buy the best you can possibly find and expend your efforts improving and maintaining it. I see people who buy absolute wrecks and then end up spending a fortune in time and money to ed up with a car not much better than one bought in top condition for half the money they've spent!

Although to be honest I've been doing just this with a Nuffield tractor I've bought, I just realised that I was getting nowhere and have bought a good running one from Ebay and am going to put all my good parts on to the other and make one good one out of two in a quarter of the time and for a lot less money!

Hello everybody,
I'm new to this web-site too. Bought a Renault 4 a few days ago and now found this site! Fantastic. Anyway, I eventually found my Renault on french e-bay - so keep an eye on that too.
I love the frog doing all the repairs - makes it so much less scary going there, and so many great tips - sound proofing etc, etc. Thanks.

yeah i do check french ebay sometimes, the only problem i find is that most of them are miles away, so its a pain going to see them, to then go home and hope you win it in an auction:(
