Newbie to R4

Just bought my first R4 today! Owner of VWT2 for a few years which seem a bit similar engine wise. But no manual or anything for the R4 so have no idea what is what underneath the hood or the instrument panel. Can't find a manual online (Living on Ibiza has limitation on receiving things from Amazon or Ebay).

Can anyone help with online manuals or pictures with explanations? I don't even know what kind of oil filter to put in.

Hi Lizelshove, congratulations on buying your R4. Inside your engine compartment, you'll find an oval plate with letters and numbers on it. They indicate what year your car is, what size engine, etc and someone will be able to help you with that
Might also be useful to put up a few photos.
There are online manuals available but I know a lot of people, myself included, who use the Haynes Manual. I got mine through Amazon UK.

Hey thanks - found some stuff online so know what is what now. However, when trying to change the oil, I seem to be clueless to find which tool to use for the drain plug. It says somewhere 10mm square ended tool but my sockets wrench (10mm square ended) does not fit. Any ideas/suggestions?

The square rod that goes between two door knobs in a door lock is what I used for years!

You were close. It is 8mm square..e.g. can be made of piece of some used lathe knife. very hard steel which is preferable here.
