Bertie the F4 needed a bit of tlc and some under floor welding and as there's not a lot of room under the car when you use a trolley jack so i tried to think of something different and there it was right in front of me A WALL it's strong solid and not going to move so why not, it made the job so much easier and safer ( i did chock the rear wheels though ):D

Apparently when he went back to Aberdeen there was a squealing now and again so he stopped and rang to see if i knew what it could be ( difficult when you can't hear it yourself ) but anyway he got there and the car was used for quite a while with a squealing now and then anyway it went for it's mot in Aberdeen and failed had three sheets :( ( not that bad really mostly minor ) :) apart from the welding which they wanted an arm, leg, lung and probably a kidney as well so it started it's journey back without a problem until about two miles from it's destination and then squeal, clatter and bang ( that's picture 4 ) no fan belt tensioner wheel, the little bearing had seized:eek:

Anyway all fixed and ready for the mot on thursday.

Even my tensioner bearing seized about a month ago, renault provides only the whole tensioner, not the single pulley, for 200 € + tax. My mechanic removed the old bearing with a lathe and then pressed in a new one, but that pulley was not designed for a bearing substitution...

woooo,,,scary ramp work...

You be careful! I mean it. You look after that Miracle Whip or I'll be coming after you. I know where you live!
