Oil change/right tool?

Just got my first R4 and trying to change the oil. However for the life of me I can't figure out how to open up the drain plug. I tried modifying (by filing it smaller) an open ended socket extension but it doesn't seem to go in far enough or else it is so tight it's not budging.

Anyone any ideas or suggestions?

oil change / right tool

Thanks Pepper for the tip for the rod for the door handle. That does seem to work much better then my adapted open ended socket extender. But the drain plug does not budge... I sprayed wd40 on it to see if that would help but still not a peep. Anyone any suggestions? Thanks!

(i) The drain plug tends to get dirt accumulating inside it. First thing, scrape all the dirt out, otherwise the hole may be too shallow to accept a tool — it should be about 2cm deep (b) I presume the hole for the tool is square. I don't know the precise dimensions but Renault used to do a special tool to fit it (c) Put the tool in the hole and hit it with a large rubber hammer. If the plug is very stiff (it often is) this should move it and the rubber hammer means you're not damaging anything (also make sure you're hitting it in the correct direction of rotation (unscrew rather than tighten) (d) Possibly the copper washer is missing : replace if it is (once you've got the thing apart).

if it still wont budge ! it is poss to get a half round mole onto it, will no doubt ruin it but a new one is easily obtainable. failing that a bit of heat to expand it ??
