Options to dry out frame?

Hello Everyone,

I just got my hands on a parts car. The fame seems good, (I'm sure to find problems) however there is standing water on the floorboard from holes in the body. I am leaving France for the year in two weeks and want to dry out the frame as much as possible before I leave. Can I assume the water has crept in the internal parts of the frame? My plan was to open the doors- take out everything, and remove the plastic chassis hole covers, and let the sun and wind do it's work. The car will be stored in a dry barn while I am away. I was thinking of looking for a solar powered window fan to keep air circulating in the car while I am gone. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

You can simply drill holes at the corners of the floorpan to let the water drain. Even if you intend to use this chassis, you can simply plug them with rubber plugs. It's not usual for water to find its way towards the side rails, but it can end in the front section lower members, as they are the lowest point and are not equipped with drain holes. You can drill such holes to check if there is any water there, with the added bonus that they can be used as wax / anti-corrosion product injection points later.

I second Angel on this one. Place car on blocks to have bess poss air-circulation under it.Drill some holes on lowest points
so standing-water can get out.Get rid of all carpets etc .hang double over clotcline or they Will get smelly and unusable..
Open all doors and windows. Also open fresh-air intake- all to get most air to circulate..
If you've got vermins, mice etc in barn, get 4 plastic-buckets and place them upside-down over blocks so the critters
can't get into the car (Remember to take off the bucket-handles as mice climbs on these easily if there -Reid
