I don't have a 4, I have a 6. I'm encountering a bit of an issue in that none of the main suppliers even recognise it as a model and some have the 5 as the earliest car they supply parts for.

I've learned so far that the 1108 engine, gearbox, chassis and running gear are all effectively 4 underneath the 6 body. Am I safe to assume that if I shop for 1.1 Renault 4 parts they're going to fit my 6?

I'm lucky that all the bits of bodywork and trim unique to the 6 are intact and in reasonable condition, but the moving parts haven't fared quite as well (though much better than expected).

Advice on this is very welcome, as is where to shop to get the best prices. I'm so far finding everything remarkably cheap through eBay and Euro Car Parts but that GSF are next to useless.

Essentially an R6 is just a bigger box to go on top of the R4 oily bits so the mechanical stuff is pretty much the same, yes.

Theres a lot more availability of 'bits' in France than there is here, have a look at Melun Retro Passion or Der Franzose as they should be able to supply a lot if not all the mechanical bits.

Cheers for that :) They both seem very expensive compared to the UK suppliers for the parts I need, I'd already got Melun bookmarked who do seem good for bigger items.
