Pedals and cables

Hi,
as you can see in the "mongrel R4" thread, we're mating a '87 GTL body shell to '78 GTL greasy bits.
The motor we're using has the Solex 32 SEIA carb, whereas the donator of the body shell used the Zenith 28 IF.
The cable housing of the choke cable is too short, it pulls at the carb, but I need a cable with a switch for the choke control light.
reno4er are offering three different cables: One without the switch (got that one, doesn't fit), one for post-81 GTL (that's the one that was in the car, housing too short) and post-81 TL ... would that one have a longer housing? Any alternatives?

Another thing we're a bit puzzled about: The brake pedal sits so much higher than the accelerator pedal as you can see in the photo. The clutch isn't set yet, so that's not worrying us. Both brake and accelerator pedal are at their respective end points I don't remember the difference being so extreme. Any thoughts?

Thanks
Robert

You have to call Schützenhofer from Reno4er and ask him, but very probablly the TL choke won't fit.
You can look for a used R5 GTL Choke, probably even Super 5 Chokes from '85-'90 will do.
You can use a 2CV6 Choke, notch in the dashboard has to be widened a little, the light is in the handle, so electric has to be modified too. It's expensive.
You can modify the choke you allready have. It's a little bit difficult: You have to drill out the old cable, a turning centre is needed, a new cabel can only be put in by flame brazing. You get cables at every bike store (shifters).

The pedals: Brake pedal is adjustibel. You need a little clearance. Make shure that the piston comes out completly. Gas pedal is adjustible too, sometimes you have to deform the catch a little. But if it's to high, it feels very strange.
