Plein Air gearbox - which one?

Can anyone say which gearbox the Plein Air came with.
I think it's the 334 four-speed but did it come with the 354 also or instead?

Thanks, Geoff

Geoff they came out with the 334. 354 didn't come until the pleine air was replaced by the rodeo.

It was available from 1968 to 1970, so all Plein Airs had 6V electrics and the early version of the 334 gearbox with the starting handle dog.

Angel, do you know what other differences there were between the 'early version' 334 gearbox and the later one.
The workshop manual lists 11 suffixes, which I guess means versions, but nothing on what the differences are.

I've got a 334 gearbox that I got in pieces and I'm not sure what I've got.

Main difference was the starting handle dog, other difference was the input shaft and seal, and another was the clutch release bearing (although not directly related to the gearbox). There was also a change in the 2nd gear design at some point. Still little differences to justify 11 versions!
