I've got a few old Olympus cameras and a really old Zenith EM sitting doing nothing, so thought I'd pop along to our old pal ebay to see if they were worth anything, the answer is basically zilch, zippo, nadda!

My father has a huge collection of cameras stashed away at his place, the bottoms so dropped out of the market they are worth next to nothing, in fact looking at the cameras the Zenith seems to have the best chance of getting a reasonable price!

Ho hum, sits here wondering whether its worth the effort of listing them?

The world has gone digital I'm afraid.

Back in 2002 I traded in my Nikon equipment for a Fuji S602 digital camera. At the time I thought I'd got a poor deal but it seem from what you're saying that I probably traded in at the right time, just before the digital market took complete control. The S602 is still going strong but it doesn't have that solid feel of the old Nikon.

PS I used to have an old Zenith - the Lada of the camera world :)

Sad isn't it? The old slrs so well made yet worth hardly anything. You don't happen to have an Olympus OM1? I've always wanted one:)

Sorry Beagle the two Olympus' are an OM10 and an OM101. If I had an OM1 then it would probably be worth some money still.

ive a CAnon AE1 which i bought about 18 yrs ago
no point in selling it as i still use it and its worthless too
i just use b/w film thats all, although ive just repaired a Canpn 400D so i shall see if i still use the old one
its nice to have the actual pics after waiting to pick them up from the developers :)
rather than seeing them on a computer screen

Just found this thread and had totally forgotten all about it. I had posted about the camera in March and then my Dad passed away in July after a bout of Pneumonia, I have since inherited all his cameras and I was gobsmacked at how many he had!

He was a wise old bugger as a lot of them were the choice cameras, if you had the chance of ten Leicas with around three lenses for each camera then you'd know what I mean!
