Now the Gordini is finished it's time for Ermintrude to find a new home. I bought her in 2003, did some restoration work, and have used her as an every day car since then.
She has been (and still is) perfectly reliable and is nice to drive. The chassis is still very solid but her body has started to deteriorate.
Special bits are a good jig welded chassis which is showing no signs of deterioration, front grille from the post 1990 cars with the chrome badge, number plate with 52 in it which makes it look modern and posh, 5 lovely continental tyres fitted this year, exhaust last year if memory serves, everything works apart from one of the reversing lights, yellow in colour so slightly faster than normal, Hennessey Hot Up Kit (R5 carburettor for 10 more hp and better fuel economy). Brakes and suspension good (can't have been more than 2 or 3 years ago that I went around with new bits). 122,000 miles (they were only short ones), MOT and tax to February 2011 and new ones should be no problem.
The main trouble points in the body are the rear of the boot floor, boot lid, front apex panels, and the bottom of the windscreen. There are also shabby areas at the back of the roof and the top of a rear door pillar, and I'd be tempted to remove and reseal all of the wings. None of this would cause problems in an MOT, but it does need to be rectified before it gets any worse. I had been planning to take her off the road this year to fix those bits, but work has got in the way.
I have no idea about value. The chassis has been properly repaired and she should last for years, but the body is becoming untidy. It's normally the other way around with R4s.
How about £1500?
