Hi All,
I've got my front seats in pieces at the moment and have just discovered that the headrests I've got fitted on my Rover 800 Coupe seats (in a 2cv!) could fairly easily be adapted to fit the headrest mounting tubes already in the R4 seats.

The distance between the two prongs that insert in the seat are perfect. I'm pretty sure the mounts in the Rover seats could be adapted to fit the R4 tubes with some filing. Or even simpler some pieces of dowel could be put in the tubes in the R4 seats with a smaller hole drilled down the centre for the headrest prongs.

There must still be a few Rover 800's kicking about in scrappies so if you've been hunting in vain for R4 headrests for ages they are an alternative and cheap solution.

Where's the Like button, a very useful piece of information thank you! :)

More good news!

It gets better. Rover 800 (I wrote Coupe above as thats what I have but the more commonplace saloon ones are interchangable) headrests came with either light grey leather piped dark grey or in beige piped either burgundy or dark blue. The light grey is a near perfect colour match to the GTL grey tartan vinyl and the beige is a pretty reasonable match with GTL beige tartan so you could feasibly fit either colour and not need to retrim them...

Try these... The colour of the headrest and seat is quite a close match. My seats are really dirty!

Just been checking what's available on eBay - nothing from Rover 800 but plenty of similar looking headrests from the 200, 400, and Range Rover P38 which look like they might have the wide fixing (24cm?) that the GTL needs.
