Rear Break... MOT failure

Hello,

I took my r4 GTL for MOT and all passed but rear brake on driver side failed :(.

What they told me is that breaking force comes in too late compared to other side and also brake force is not adequate on left side.

Not long ago most rear brake parts were replaced, so there are new brake shoes, wheel cylinders, new springs etc.

Any tips what I should check?

There is no air in the brake fluid.

One guess is the adjuster is not working as it should and that's causing the trouble.

What can be wrong with it?

Also the brake force adjuster (or whatever it's called the thing that adjust brakes depending on weight on rear seats) is not connected, but I suppose that should not results in MOT failure.

Regards,

Zsolt

Check the flexible hose on that side also if you have two metal pipes to the rear brakes it is best to pressure bleed system then check h/brake adjuster.

I swapped the brake drums between left and right. the good news is that now the brake force is even on both sides, but not enough.

Now I hope I only miss the springs that connects the brake force adjuster to the rear axle beam.

I tried to google for a picture but I could not find. Does anyone have?

It is possible that some one has fitted 2 leading brake shoes one side and 2 trailing shoes the other this will definite cause imbalance
It is also possible for the rear cylinders to be sticky and not pushing out evenly on each piston
Further thought includes 2 different diameter rear cylinders 19 or 22mm?
Or even partly blocked rear flexible hoses
