Hi all
So I’m new to this but my car is old 1962 R4.

Fuel was not flowing well so I removed tank and found a lot of sludgy rusty stuff. Also round that the rear little subframe that supports the back of the tank only had one bolt per side and not 2 into the main frame box sections. One is sheared off so perhaps I can drill an ezout but the other side it seems that the thread is gone. Was it just a tapped hole or was there a welded nut on the back or some such ?

Any thoughts on how to repair ?

I’m in Australia somunderside of car is more or less rust free !

I would fit a rivet nut there. Original thread is M7, but if you can't find such a rivet nut, M6 will do the job - this crossmember is not too stressed.

That looks like a good idea.
I’ll give it a go.

Thank you

Garth
