Hi all

I have recently purchased some rear KYB shocks for my 1990 clan. I have managed to remove the old ones without too much difficulty but the KYB shocks are proving a problem to replace ! Has anyone fitted these previously i would appreciate some advice ?

Thanks

Hi there, yes they are a real bugger to compress, and hold in that postion. I used two lengths of stout wire per shocker, at least 16 inches long, and hooked each one around each end of the shocker. You then need to compress the shocker, not easy, and then hook each end of the wire together. I used wire of about 1/8 th diameter. Assuming you have your car resting on its chassis, you then need to jack up the swinging arm to get the mounting bracket and bolt hole to the length required according to what length you have the shocker at. There is probably an easier way, but this worked for me. Good luck.
