Morning all --- Just a quick one, I am in the process of fitting new rear wheel bearings and they come with a ring seal --- (metal/rubber as photo) which way round does it fit ---- rubber section facing inward to suspension arm or rubber section facing outward to drum. Unfortunately a friend removed the original bearings for me as they were heavily seized and he didn't take notice of how they were positioned. Also if there are any tricks or tips of the trade to fitting the new bearings please feel free to assist, any advise to make life easier before i start is greatly appreciated.

Cheers Petak -- good photos like yours make life much easier --- i assume from your photo that because the inner bearing is fitted into the hub you must have then mounted the hub onto the shaft fully assembled ?

Yes.

I have fitted brake pads, and hand brake cable on backplate.
Also fitted bearings onto drum.
And after that join.

Here is picture how backplate look with brake pads on

And with handbrake cable

Unfortunately do not have whole picture with all parts before closing

Note. This is how it looks on GTL model

I have also rebuilt the back plates ( photo) which have now been mounted onto the arms. Now that i know how the seals fit its just now a case of mounting the drums onto the shafts, The only reason i was asking if there were any tips for doing this was that on the first trial the new bearings are slightly more difficult fit onto the shaft than i would have expected. You have obviously done a great job of documenting your rebuild, that takes great dedication.
