Not sure if the word is English but after saying we were 'overboated' I have been back into the Boat Market and have bought yet another bargain - It is a traditional Somerset SLECS - (Somerset Levels Eel Catching Skiff) with a traditional woven willow bottom - You apparently Bob for Eels through the willow slats if any of you clever dicks know what I am talking about!!

I paid 500 euros for this little gem but my wife thinks I have been ripped off - She doesn't think it will float? BUT What does she know hey?

I will report back on my Eel catching news for La Vendee AND I cant wait to launch L'Anguille..

..No you dont need a woven bottom Bluebell

..The trick is to have a loose willow bottom and so you then lure the eels up to the underside of the boat and when you pull your small ball of worms and wool through the willow slats, the eels push their heads up thorough the slats as well and get stuck - Easy peasy hey?.

You then pick them up, chop their heads off and stick them on a BBQ and its as fine a breakfast as you will ever taste - fresh eels - Yum yum (as Pepper would say)

And...what about your local Waitrose?

You must drive her to despair!!

Good on you, keep on trying :D

Ian I used to make boats like your little skiff, But my customers always insisted I put in a solid wooden bottom, they said it floats much better !!!! with one

..Woody dear boy

..You have resurfaced..What about a glass of Mareuil with Pepper and Mrs Poivre at my place in the not too distant future?

What have you been up to after all this time?

Ian I have been much occupied with work and the ongoing restoration of the Mason. However have managed to kickstart the Pension, so now I can take things a little slower perhaps!! Would love to take you up on the offer of alcohol!!!!

Ooo I like the latest picture!!

We're just in the process of framing my fabulous ebay purchase at this very moment!

The we're is of course Mme Poivre

..Well bad and...good news Team

..The bad news is that I didnt get my boat - It sold for £540...which is rather good news for the seller hey?

Now Pepper once your Renault 4 Art is framed and up in pride of place on your wall please post up a pic to show all the rest of the team what they missed..

And Woody..please send me a pm with your address and phone number again as I think I had it but couldnt find last night.

Right having been disappointed by my lack of success with this boat...I am now back on the case for my next boat!!

I must remember Woody's advice - Always buy a boat with a solid bottom?
