Removing Choke puller from the housing.

Hi all.

I need to replace the plastic housing undeneath the steering column but I cant seem to remove the choke puller.

Ive tried grabbing the stem and unscrewing the round mushroom end bit but it doesnt budge and I dont want to snap it.

I just cannot seem to figure out how to get it away from the housing.

Any help much appreciated

I think you will find that there are two black plastic clips at the back which you push together and then it will come through the front in one piece.

Are these the two clips ? Ive tried to puch them together but dont budge?

They are quite tricky if you've got a thin pair of mole grips it will hold them both in but do not need much movement only 3 mm and adjust grips carefully to avoid too much pressure as plastic will break
