Hi!

I was in proces of taking out fuel sender unit from tank and run into a problem.

Sender did not get out easily.
There is catch how can be removed

on sender unit there are two notchs which are limiters for float travel.

catch is, to tilt sender unit so that upper limiter gets out from tank. (need to bend wire little bit)

After that it is easyto take sender out as it can pass thru hole in tank

Maybe it will be more clear, what need to be done, from video.
But i can not upload video to forum. Extension is not allowed.

Could not managed to put video here so will update topic with two pictures.

First.
Tilting sender unit to side so that upper limiter can come out form the hole

After the upper limiter is out you must straighten sender unit and pull it up until you get to float.

yes I can remember trying to get the sender unit out first time. Thought I would go mad. I could see that there was a technique, a trick to it, because someone had got it in, so it must come out. Got there eventually. Just refurbing my tank at the moment. Used POR15 fuel tank repair system, which appears good. Used it on Ronnie and it worked on sealing the porous bit around the plug, where water collects and rusts the tank from inside out. Doing it now on Reinelle, our 72 car. Having to use a different sender from Fransoze, because have not been able to find a new cast metal Veglia unit like the original. Then under the car to put the tank back in place.
