Hi everyone! Hello from Mexico City. I am in need of some wisdom!!
I am repairing a R11 hydraulic rack and pinion that leaks both sides of the rack.
I have dismounted it from the car and trying to disassemble it to get new oil seals in. First thing is that I do no know how to remove what looks as a nut on one side of the rack. See Picture. It is got a wire on the side that could be kind of safety stuff, but should I remove it before any dismantling, or it comes out along with the nut? Renault manual available does not show any detail on this procedure.
On the other side, to remove the whole rack from the housing it is required to clear the other end of the shaft on the side of the pinion. What should I remove to get it free?
