Hello
My car had developed a squeak on the front, stripping down the right hand stub axle I found that the 'spacer' had failed and was snagging on the brake disc and hub, in-between the two.
Pictured is the part I removed. I can remember when I last replaced both (sides) front wheel bearings that the 'spacer' was there, I can't though find any technical documents or reference to such a part.
It sits between the outer bearing (the one nearest the disc) and hub, where the brake disc is secured and provides a spacer so the calliper hanger doesn't snag, basically, without it the assembly is not useable.
Does anyone know what this part is called and where I might find one? It appears on both sides of my car and has been there for the 12 years I have owned it.
Do I need to buy an entirely new hub instead?
Many thanks
Glenn
