Hi everyone.
First of all, I am new at the forum and my English is not so good, but I hope you will understand what I need. :)

I want to put all new electric installations in my Renault 4, but the problem is that I need a schema so I can connect every cable on the wright place. Is there anyone who has this shema so can e-mail it to me or something like that?

I know that you think: Why don't I connect everything the way it used to be before? the problem is it didn't work before and since I am fixing it now, I want to do it properly, by the book.

The main problem is wiring on the "main console".

I really hope someone can help.

Thank you.

Hi fbarbari, I can help you with the diagrams, but I need to know your R4 type and model year first. Give me your email too to send them to you.

OK, you will receive the wiring diagram soon! I guess the 1970 one is 6V, the '71 is 12V?

Today both are 12 V, I do not know what they were in the past. I do not see any fusebox or the like. Should it be any, where?

The fusebox is on the bulkhead (from inside the bonnet), next to the steering column. It is small (4 fuses). If it doesn't have a fusebox, it was originally 6V converted to 12V later.

Does anyone have diagram for R 4 GTL - 1989, 12V ?

I just find a fusebox in one of them. Is got 4 fuse positions. It is wired currently to three of them. The other one is empty, no fuse, no wires.
On the other car is non existing, I will install a new one on it copying the other car´s wiring.

So it is just as it should be! 1971 model, 12V and 1970 model 6V converted to 12V. I will try to send you the diagrams today.

Can I also get those electrical diagrams?

Heya. I'm in South Africa and I have an early 80s 4tl. I have no idea what's cookin with the electricals, but it seems I'm not getting a spark.. :( I cant find what is going where... if it's the wiring or the coil or the distributor (just changed cap and rotor but still nothing) couldn't find a new condenser though. /:

Hello Charles, welcome to the forum. It wouldn't hurt to change the condenser but I reckon the culprit is the coil. Regards Brian.
