can any one tell me where the fuel gauge is in the tank as in the car it is not giving me the correct reading

new tank plus meter but indicator fail?

I took mine off when I had the tank cleaned and it was easy enough with a little patience.

i bougth a new tank and meter from farnzöze(25liters). Originally i had a 40liters tank.

Now the indicator show on instrument panel no less than half a tank, yesterday i run out of petrol due this fact

any ideas why it is so?

It depends which way you have installed the float in the tank.
I assume the arm of the float has to lie at the bottom of the tank and rise as the petrol tank is filled.
I would also assume that you require the correct fuel gauge with the 25 litre tank.
All assumptions I'm afraid.

**it was one new package, there was only one way todoit.Old float was full of petrols(leak)

**yupp, i did check it from supplier at purchase

**ok
strange matter, in deed

Well it's now obvious that either the float or the fuel gauge is not working properly. or you have a very bad earth wire connection from the tank to the fuel gauge.

The earth wire from the tank, does this not go straight to the chassis/bodywork? Is not all the instruments earthed by the same connection? I ask as I have also an intermittent fault on my fuel gauge, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but I don't know for sure why, just assumed it was an earth fault.

I'm not really that sure however, someone on this site should be able to help you with your earth wire problem.
