Renault 4 GTL noise in 3rd gear

My 1992 R4 GTL has suddenly started making a noise in 3rd gear, possibly from the gearbox, there isn't any noise in 1st or 2nd, a lot in 3rd and slight noise in 4th, does or has anyone had a similar problem?

Presumably you have checked oil level

Think lobster had a gearbox for sale if it's needed

OK reno, no not yey but had planned to as first job, will let you know

Noise gone, I drained the gearbox only to have about 30ml come out, 1.1L in and she's all good again.
