Thanks Brian, we're just on our way back from Croatia, where there are very many Renault 4's on the road (especially in korcula). I gather they made them here under licence from Renault. I have made a mental note that it's probably a good place to get spares! I will contact Derek tomorrow and also follow-up on the other post of the R4 for sale. I figure I've got a lot to learn quickly to ensure I spend the money wisely on the right car for marianne but it's great to know there are so many enthusiasts out there who are prepared to share their experience! R4 here is still everyday car. Especially in coastal part of Croatia.
It is narrow, useful little car that can carry big loads so people in Dalmatia love it.
And winters are mild so better preserved from rust (which basically kill R4)
