They don't show us much of the engine, but the timing belt and camshaft pulley are clearly visible on the bulkhead side of the engine. There must had been a lot of work to shoehorn this engine under the R4 bunnet...it's a pity we don't see more.
Replacing a timing belt on this should be at least interesting!

This is the "R4 Megane"
of the Dutchman Hotze Holtrop with a K7M-Megane 8 valves 1600 cc engine,165 HP !
He ownes a car-dismantling-company in the North of Holland.
and already built 15 years ago a R4Safari containing a 5GTT ,105 HP engine.
Contrast to my own installation of the super5 1.4 injection, a daily to use cheap modern engine, which in the R4 has a speed of more than 150 km and a cruising speed of 130 km and comes along so well with the current traffic and also is suitable to drive on E85 bioethanol,.... the future!! with the production out of algae/ waste plants.
