Renault Megane Scenic Automatic Prob.

Hi,

Just bought a Renault Megane Scenic 2.0 RT Auto. ( 1999 )
Its the 1st automatic I have had and I suspect there is a problem.
When it changes from 4=>3 or 3=>2 or 2=>1 it is really smooth. But when it changes 1=>2, 2=>3 or 3=>4 the revs shoot up ( to around 3500 rpm ) as it changes gear. Seems slow to change gear.


Any ideas. is there anything I can easily check.

Hi Dave,

May be a daft question, have you topped up the automatic transmission fluid. It may also need changing? Whats the colour of the fluid?
Has it been well serviced?

Thanks for the reply. It got to the point where it could hardly go up a hill so checked the warranty and the gearbox was covered. Phew. Now at the garage having the box re-conditioned.
