Renault newbie

Hi, i own a 1990 renault 5 TR and was wondering wether if anyone knew if it is possible to convert the manual choke for an automatic one as the car has shocking petrol consumption and Renault have said its due to the choke!!! Any suggestions.

i always thought the auto choke systems used more petrol. Maybe you need to sort out the bushes on the choke flap which usual wear out meaning the choke never shuts off all the way.

Maybe you have a air leak around the carb base gasket...
