reversing lights ?

I want to fit Fifi with a reversing light & have got a switch off an r5 at the scrap yard, can anyone tell me whereabouts I should stick it!!!!!!
(answers on a postcard).
According to my very vague 20yr old french technical manuel there are a couple of likley looking spots on the right hand side of the gearbox when viewing from the front.

Kept forgetting to take a photo, but it's the big flat looking nut on the left side of the gearbox (looking forward). Unscrew the nut and fit the switch. GTLs tend to have wiring connectors as standard.

I tried to fit some aftermarket switch (my car wasn't fit with one) but it would turn the light on in every gear beside the reverse
