Wife and I took our yearly trip to France this time we drove down to Nice-Cannes-St-Tropez in our F4 Took the Jura-mountain-route which is the nearest I've come to
being Totally amazed.. FANTASTIC! -Those Cols/passes puts norwegian mountains Totally to shame! fantastic scenery and the roads were Superb too..
Had some issues along the way as there still is some serious hesitatation at higher speeds and when under load (uphills usually) Roffen Loved these roads so behaved
with no hick-ups going up those steep winding roads -untill we were back at lower altitude again (is there a clue in there somewhere?)
Met and chatted with a nice biker from Germany at a local supermarked who set us in contact with his friend, an Irish guy living in France who also had an electric
pump laying around which we mounted and it helped for a sweet while.. My phone died on me the day after(!) and so I lost all of their details and haven¨t been
able to get in touch with after. Only "clue" I have is that his father (back in Ireland) -now in retirement, once won an award for Best Irish Car Mechanic
-IF by any chance you(he) sees this (or others that might think they know)
-Please get in touch for me to reimburs you and say thank you again!
(This was at a totally pitch black night at for us unknown place where we had no GPS and No net... He had a Real nice older HD he had built more or less from scratch
-Oh yes, and a nice girlfriend!
Original plans were to take the old famous N7 down to SOF -we found shorter stretches of it but think this splendid scenic route should be Much more highlighted
by French tourist-authorities (Alt: I have to Seriously sharpen up on my map-reading) Anyhoo-as usual we had a Blast! -met up with our Bons Amis in Grasse and
had a very nice but Very HOT week at their place (a bit too hot for us norwegians -we're just not built to cope with those temps/humidity I guess)
'course some good cold beers took the sharpest edges off it.
While his brand new A110 sat there beside us we did some tinkering on his GTA V6 and got it ticking-over nicely so he was able to get it through the rigourus Mot.
Note to self! Buy a proper camera! taking cell-phone images in all honour, but when it all goes pearshaped I'd much rather have a bulky Proper camera
ALL the best for now from us both up Norwayland//-Reid.
