Yeah, started scraping on the worst place on the floor and it was pretty much what I knew was hiding in plain sight but didn't really want to know about. Might as well replace the whole floor but what else do I need? I'd rather order all at ounce instead of getting a floor than realizing I also need.. Downer for sure but don't wanna give up! Thanks for any tips/advice on how to go forward.

Sprayed on some corrosion protection just to ease my mind a little. This picture is back door driver side/left side floor.

sorry to see this Brandon,as our cars rusts from inside out you best prepare to find loads more even into the important bits
As the 4L were very popular and widely spread in Sweden and there is still many around your best bet would be to locate
a donor or two..
-Usually they are to be found pretty cheap.Place some free ads in the various vet.car magazines. Also -do get in touch with
the ClubRenaultSuede as they are on top on where you likely could find one.
(The further up North you look the less rusty they would be as they didn't salt the h**** out of the roads up there.)

PS :Whereabouts in Sweden are you located?

-Reid.

I'm up in Jämtland. Yes I'm in touch with them. I'd like to get a donor car but tight on space to have one right now. I'll try and order a complete floor but as you see around the edges it's beyond floor. I need to find out what these specific weld on pieces are called and start making a list of what I need.

Is the rust in the photo right above the chassis rail where the rear suspension arm mounts? If so, it is worse than it looks.

Hello Brandon, well what can I say this is a typical R4 rust spot and believe me that spaying corrosion protection won't ease your mind, looking at the picture this is a severe problem.
As the rear left is affected so is presumably the rear right and the front left and front right and several spots more and when the body is affected so is the chassis (or the other way round).

You may follow my R4 project regarding the full restoration on my 1985 GTL from here chassis repairs were started.
You may also read and follow several other restoration projects, there is a lot to find from co-restoration R4 drivers/workers.
Regards Joop

Thanks for the tips. I have crawled under and had a good look and checked those parts with a hammer. Everything seems ok and no bubbles or expanded mettle. Don't see any rust on the arm or chassis. I know I could be way off but I can't see a problem there even with wheel off. Everything under got sprayed with rust protect oil every year. I'll fix the floor and where it connects. I might do more or just drive it until the wheels fall off.
