This idiot just went and snapped off a wheel stud by pushing too hard on the spanner :(
Is it possible to remove and replace the stud, or do I need a whole new hub?
Help please!

Take the hub off and lay it on something firm, then with a punch knock the old stud out and then pop in the new one and hit it from the back and hey presto :-)

The studs are a press fit into the back of the hub. It might be possible to knock them out in situ with a hammer and punch, especially if you drill through the center first. You can use a wheel nut to pull the new one into place.

Phew, I'll try knocking it out tomorrow. Are the studs easy to find at a motor factors or will I need to order from der Franzose?

I'm rather afraid I might have ruined a set of brake shoes whilst getting the drum off, too. Everything's going wrong today.

I understand that it is a rear wheel stud. If you can't find one close to you I'll be happy to send you one.

Thanks harbourseal, I'll send you a private message.

It pressed out quite easily using a G-clamp and a large socket, and smacking the back of the clamp on the floor to give an extra push.
