Having stripped the front off my Quatrelle I just thought i would remove spark plugs as you can tell a reasonable amount about the engine, I could nt get number3 plug out as the distibutor fouled the removing plug do i really have to remove distributor to get to the plug? By the way they were all sooty so the carb needs tweaking i think.
I managed to get all 4 wings off and I am pleased to find that as it belonged to the French armee they really looked after it and there is NO RUST at all on the chassis. A little patch on the floor though about the size of a small cup.
Shock absorbers are shot though and 2 leak
Hazards dont work either where is the relay for the hazard indicators?
Now to think of a funky colour?

The third spark plug is a little inaccessible. I can get them out with a spark plug socket using a socket set extension. If your plug spanner is a bit big then you can mark the position of the distributor on it's mounting with a bit of paint or by scratching a mark and be able to put it back in much the same place. The plugs could be sooty if the last run was short and on choke.

Is it a GTL? The hazard relay is built into the indicator relay mounted on top of the plastic cover under the steering column. Do buy shock absorbers from Renault. The fronts are 20 euros each and the rears around 35 each. The Renault ones work a lot better than aftermarket ones.

How about a faded off-white colour?

Thats not very exciting faded off white, its already that, well faded biege anyway. I would like something abit zingy wife wants "aubergene"
Thanks for the info though, I couldnt get my spark plug socket in at all I will remove with care the distributor (allumage) in french.
I managed to upload 1st pic obviously before I stripped it.
I am a glutton for punishment though I have just bought myself a "Nez de couchon" or an HY citroen van so thats 3 jobs on the go in my barn:eek:
