Speedo Not Working

Hi all, so speedo not working and I've traced it to dashboard end of things. Cable fitted to the back of the speedo as it should be. Can I assume that I'll need a new instrument cluster or is there a fix you're aware of?

Have you checked that the speedo cable is turning correctly?
If it is, it could be a stuck/bent speedo needle.

Speedo fault

Hi! Just noticed that the speedo in my F4 is stuck on 10mph when stationary and does not move when driving. Is this likely to be a fault with the speedo unit or some where else? Thanks!

Hi.
A long long time ago on a 4 Speed 1300 5 GTL my Speedo needle warped and as a consequence rubbed on the Perspex Dash Glass.
Don’t laugh, but after dismantling the Binicle I pulled the plastic needle off what is only a Stainless pin , removed the plastic needle off the center ‘boss’ and glued an orange plastic cocktail stick in its place. Job done and because the cocktail stick was translucent looked the part.
A mere suggestion on a Dull and Damp Sunday evening here in Lancashire.

I had a similar Problem a while back. Do you also have this really annoying screeching sound when that happens? In that case it might be the cable rubbing on its what ever the thing around it is called. shield? Pipe? Feel free to correct me. Anyways in my case it helped to find the position that's just right for the cable like with mine or it could help oiling it, however that is more of a general trick and I am relatively new to Renaults so if there is something wrong with that on specifically a R4 feel free to let me know.
