Speedometer cable.

The speedo cable broke on Marigold (83 GTL) the other day so is there anybody out there in the UK that has a spare one they could sell me? Also does anybody know if a cable off of a LHD car will fit a RHD one?

I will answer mate....just looked at my F4 and yes there shouldnt be a problem...you could always borrow my GTL one for the trip....pick up one in France when you go...

Lhd us far to short for a rhd car as is the clutch cable

Thats funny mike...my LHD F4 cable goes along the lh inner wing along the bonnet to the other side of the gearbox were as the RHD cable should come out the bulkhead to the gearbox....i understand the clutch cable is way too short...

Well, to answer my own question, yes a speedo cable for a LHD 83 GTL fits a RHD one. I've just received a cable from Melun Retro Passion and if anything it's a better fit as it is 10cm longer than the original, so it doesn't go through a tight bend just before the gearbox. And the price, only €35 inc postage to the UK. The cost of one from Renault UK is £60 so it's a no brainer.
